“The Boston Porter Memorial is an event that was started to honor Jimmy and Kim Ray’s grandson who lost his life in a tragic accident at the age of only 14 months old,” shared Randy Schmutz, the general manager of the UBBI.  ”Over the past 7 years this event has raised and awarded over $80,000 in Youth Scholarships to students in Anderson County!”

The UBBI “Bull Team” Competition featured 42 different bulls on 14 Teams on Saturday night.  The contest was a “Time Ridden” format, adding a point for every second team bulls were ridden to the total Bull score.  When all was said and done the Wilburn Bull Team finished on top with a total team score of 271.66 points, earning $5470.  There team bulls included #9169 Fear Alert, #-842 Money Maker and #-929 No Hands.  Finishing in the top 5 was Cude Bucking Bulls ($4375), Carlton Partin ($3465), Rawson Bucking Bulls ($2735), Danny Reagan ($2190).

“These team events allow us to offer UBBI members an opportunity to compete with more bulls at more locations,” stated Randy Schmutz.  “We plan to schedule more Bull Team events later this season!”
