UBBI Announces Entry Guidelines for the 2011 Gold Standard Futurity

Stephenville, Texas (February 2, 2011) – On December 6, 2010 the United Bucking Bulls, Inc. announced a new and exciting Futurity event for the 2011 season.  The UBBI Gold Standard Futurity presented by TwoBulls will be held in Duncan, Oklahoma on April 30th.  This event will be limited to 150 two year old bulls, entry fees are $1,100 and will pay back $150,000.  The winner of the Gold Standard Futurity will earn $50,000 and the event will pay 30 places.  The UBBI Gold Standard Futurity will be hosted by Jim McLain and Mike Sellers and presented by TwoBulls.

The Gold Standard Futurity will offer individuals up to 3 of 130 Lifetime positions. The remaining 20 positions will available to breeders through a Gold Standard Futurity Lottery each year.  “A Lifetime position will be defined as an entry position in the control of a participant as long as he uses that position to enter a futurity bull each year,” stated UBBI General Manager Randy Schmutz.  “The UBBI feels that this will add significant value to the Gold Standard Futurity.  The owner of that position can use, sell, partner or lease the position, but the original owner of record is in control of that position or positions until sold to another participant.  Individuals can only apply for up to 3 Lifetime positions.”

“This is a fun and exciting concept,” stated Jim McLain.  “We plan to host a pre-event party each year and the lottery will only add to the fun.  I believe that every breeder has a chance to win the $50,000 by being able to name their calves two weeks prior to the event when the entries close.”
