Sometimes a “new” move is a good move and sometimes it’s a great move! In the case of moving the Red River Chute-Out from Shawnee, Oklahoma to it’s new home in Ada, Oklahoma. . . . .it was a great move!

“It’s always exciting for us when we can offer our members more,” stated Randy Schmutz, general manager of the UBBI. “Not only is the facility better for our event, the community got involved and we had good crowds inside the Pontotoc County Agriplex! We’re looking forward to growing this event into one of the biggest events on our schedule!”

The event attracted 201 different bulls, in four different categories, including a Youth Futurity (see story on Youth Results), Futurity, Derby and Classic. The Derby kicked off the weekend’s activities with 61 three year old bulls competing and the event paid 13 places.  Casey Simino, together with partners David Floyd and Heath Breaux were very successful, grabbing both the 1st and 2nd place checks. Bull #114 Jethro 114 owned by Simino & Floyd posted a score of 90 points, earning a 1st place check totaling $3565. Simino & Breaux picked up the 2nd place check for $2673 with bull #110 Iceberg Slim, scoring 89.5 points. The total haul for both bulls was $6238. Finishing in 3rd place was bull #107 Come On Baby owned by Cord McCoy/Tim Dougherty, scoring 88.75 points and in 4th place was bull #56Y owned by Cheyenne Owens.  Other top ten finishers included Duaine Briehholt/Chase Foutch; Gerry Byrn; DAM Cattle Co; Carpenter & Hudgins; Ludtke Bucking Bulls and Rockin R Bucking Bulls.
