There’s no denying that Black Betty, owned by Paul & Lorie Daniel has dominated this year’s UBBI Classic standings.  The little black muley that can, did it again at the final UBBI event of the 2012 season in Tunica, Mississippi adding another $2,156 to his earnings column.  Black Betty is the number one UBBI Classic bull with a total of $17,910.

“Black Betty has been really good all year.  He’s competed at 11 UBBI Classic events, won four of them, placed second at 3 and won a 3rd at another.  That’s winning money at 8 of 11 events.  That’s domination,” exclaimed Randy Schmutz, general manager of the UBBI.

Wally Barnette and Travis Jones (WT Bucking Bulls) finished 2nd in Tunica with bull #845 Road Candy and punched his ticket for the 2012 UBBI National Finals.  Finishing in 3rd place in the Classic event was Bad Nights owned by Kenny Henderson Bucking Bulls.

The Derby had a total of 44 three year olds with at least half of them from east of the Mississippi river.  Keith Strickland flipped the switch on #945 Lights Out from Frontier/Ray/Folds/Strickland and put up an 88.5 point score to win 1st place and $3,036.  Finishing 2nd was #1467 Square Head from Owens & Martinez and in 3rd place was #901 For Sale from McConnell’s Bucking Bulls/Kenny Vaught.  Nine bulls earned a check in the Derby competition.

There were 36 bulls in the Futurity and Little Z owned Ronnie Chism from New Albany, Mississippi got the first place check with a score of 89.25 points earning $2,106.  Finishing 2nd was Jungle Fear owned by Pillow Bucking Bulls and in 3rd was Meltdown owned by Mike Trimble from Indiana.  Nime bulls place in the money in the Futurity.

Jeff Lee & Tuff Bull Productions hosted a tremendous event and made everyone feel right at home.
