UBBI To Host Youth Futurity Series Finale

The United Bucking Bulls, Inc was formed in 2010 to give bucking bull breeders and owners the opportunity to participate in uniform competitions and to bring together the top bulls from across the country to compete in an annual “Year-End” UBBI National Finals. That became a reality and in 2011 the UBBI held it’s first “Year-End” National Finals. The following year, in 2012 the UBBI announced it’s Youth Futurity Series program, allowing youth members to participate in the futurity events.

“It’s been said a million times that our youth are our future,” stated Randy Schmutz, general manager of the UBBI. “That’s true in any vocation. Our youth are the ones who will carry on what we’ve started. And the same is true with the bucking bull industry!”

With the help of great supporters and sponsors like Pull-Do Trailers (James Hogue) and Rockin’ R Bucking Bulls (David Findley & Chad Ramer), the UBBI was able to develop and create an Educational Scholarship program in 2015. Since that time, over $20,000 in scholarship assistance has been awarded.

The UBBI will host it’s 2017 Youth Futurity Series Finale this weekend, August 19th in Palestine, Texas. The event will feature 28 different two year old bulls and 23 different youth members. These participants will be competing for over $6,000 in prize money and almost $12,000 in scholarship awards. The Finale Champion will receive a trophy belt buckle from Tres Rios Silver and 2nd through 5th place Finale winners (Top 5) will also receive a trophy buckle.

“It’s a treat to see these kids get so excited about our industry,” explained Schmutz. “And to see them be so competitive and enjoy our sport makes all the hard work worth every minute!”
