Burlington Hosts Colorado UBBI Event

Once again in 2017, Greg & Carolyn Talbert along with the city of Burlington, Colorado, hosted the Bulls & Boots UBBI Event featuring a Derby, Classic, Yearling Futurity and Open Futurity competition! Bull owners from Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas traveled to eastern Colorado and put their money up to see who had the best bulls.

Byron Juma from Wyoming dominated the Derby and the Classic winning both divisions. Bull #4298 won the Derby with a score of 85.5 points and won $2050! Chad Drury with Nothin But Try Ranch and his bull #467 Super Deal placed 2nd with a score of 83.75 points and Josh Friehauf’s bull #-B87 Back Yard Swagger finished 3rd in the money with a score of 81.25. Bull #3195 Little Bit of Terror from Byron Juma won the Classic with a score of 87.75 points and a check totaling $2650! Mickey Robinson came from Missouri and left with a second place check with a score 85.75 points. Splitting 3/4 place was Chris Mora-Twisted H’s bull #398-3 Paitynes Nightmare and K-C Bucking Bulls/Nothin But Try Ranch’s bull #313 Trump Train, both with scores of 85 points.

The Bulls & Boots event featured a yearling futurity event with 16 entries! 2H Buckin Bullz/K3J came to win and picked up checks for both 1st and 2nd place with their bulls #115 Sylvester and #114 Big Brawler with scores of 86 and 85 points. Finishing in 3rd place was bull #62 Mascara from Mash/Smith with 83.75 points and in fourth place was bull #676 from Nothin But Try Ranch.

The top 4 bulls in the Open Futurity were ~ 1st place: #2C Bessie Dark Alley from Josh Friehauf 87.75 points; 2nd place: #511 Light Switch from Mask/Hubbard/Davis 86.5 points; 3rd place:#5C Head Over Heels from Josh Friehauf 86 points; 4th place: #58 Piston Hurricane from Symons Bucking Bulls 84 points.

Battle of the Bull Series Begins with June Event

The United Bucking Bulls, Inc begins it’s summer schedule with the first of 3 Battle of the Bull events in Palestine, Texas! The Texas weather is gettin hotter and the competition is too! With 6 ways to win, entries were strong in the Derby, Classic, Open & Team Futurity, Women’s Futurity and Youth Futurity with total purses reaching almost $44,000!

The Derby competition was as tough as we’ve seen all year with the top 6 bulls only being separated by .25 of a point in each placing! McCoy Ranches bull #4441 Wyliewood Blue posted the highest score of 87.75 points to take the win and a check for $2495. Close behind in second place was TBR Bucking Bulls/Tomaski Bulls’ #407 Buffalo Scott with a score of 87.5 points followed by 3rd place finisher #442 Blue Crush also from McCoy Ranches with a score of 87.25 points. New Star Pro Rodeo’s bull #422 Socks placed 4th with an 87 point outing and then it was #25B Trail of Tears from CG/Ballew in 5th and bull #184 from Cobert/Bridges/Smith from Mississippi in 6th place.

The top 4 bulls in the Classic event were #301 Show Me Homie from Cord McCoy/JK Elite/Young Bird/K-C with a score of 88 poihts winning first place and $2530. Then #IV37 Astro placed 2nd with a score of 86.75 points; New Star Pro Rodeo’s #220 Yelawolf was third and Melton Bull Company’s #324A Heartaches & Grease finished fourth.

Renegades Women’s Futurity. Jessy LoRanger-Vance Bucking Bulls’ #LV Milkman posted an 86.75 point score for their first win of the season. Milkman earned $1080. In second was Traycie Griggs/Muthabuckers bull #58 Hot Flash with an 86.5 point score and in 3rd place was Sharron Carpenter’s bull #546 KZ Twister with an 85.5 point score. Traycie Griggs/Leschyshyn picked up the 4th place check with their bull #032 Frick’in Jerry and Kari Mash/Smith/Hubbard’s bull #549 Batman placed 5th!

Our UBBI youth member, Brazos Ham caught the judges eye with his bull #152 Sugar Daddy. Each of the 4 judges marked the bovine 21.75 points for a total of 87 points to win the event and a check for $1408. Two Brothers Bucking Bulls (Orrin & Westin Cobb) placed 2/3 with their bulls #515 Texas Heat and #523 Doc Was Right, scoring 85.5 points each and Garrison Nalls landed in the 4th place spot with score of 85.25 points with his bull #509. Others placing in the Youth Futurity were Payson Tomaski; Millie Chism/Shallow Creek Bucking Bulls; Cassidi Porter/Rafter B/Rockin C; Caden Mullican; Karson Arjona; Wolfe Boys Bucking Bulls/Cooper!

outbucked his closest competition by 1.25 points with an 88 point outing and earned a check for $2380! 3J Bucking Bulls’ #51 Red Clad Armour has been pulling double duty as an entry in both the Rhinestone Renegades Women’s Futurity and the Open Futurity. This time he split 2nd thru 5th place in the Open Futurity with a score of 86.75 points. He split the money with #777 Flatbill Jeff from TD Cattle/6M; #512 from JR Phillips;#521 Bowie Daze from Cord McCoy/Brent & Margo Hazen. Others placing in the Open Futurity were #C7 Cartel from Cattle Empire Inc; #516 Ya Buddy from 4G/McKenzie/Novak; #505 #22 Kills from 4G/McKenzie/Novak and #508 The Senator from Cord McCoy/G-G.

In the Open Team Futurity competition, 8 teams of 3 bulls each put $750 per team on the line with 100% payback. 4G/McKenzie/Novak had 2 bulls and teamed up with Terry Coleman and won the event with #516 Ya Buddy (86.25 pts) and #505 #22 Kills (86 pts) and Coleman’s #X62 Hangman (85 pts) for a total of 257.25 points and an additional $2400.

UBBI Begins It’s Summer Schedule

After a 5 week break, the United Bucking Bulls, Inc will begin it’s 2017 Summer Schedule this weekend in Palestine, Texas on June 16-17. This event will feature a Women’s Futurity ~ Youth Futurity ~ Open & Team Futurity ~ Derby ~ Classic!
