2012 UBBI Gold Standard Futurity Scheduled for April

Gene Baker & Amanda Deweese. Winners at the 2011 UBBI Gold Standard Futurity

In 2011, Bucking Bull Breeders from across the United States gathered in Duncan, Oklahoma on April 30th to be a part of the first ever UBBI Gold Standard Futurity presented by Chisholm Trail Casino.  One-Hundred-Fifty two year old bucking bulls arrived from 21 different states including Pennsylvania, New York, Georgia, California and Indiana, just to name a few.  With $150,000 up for grabs, everyone was excited and interested to see who would walk away with the $50,000 First Place check!

Jim McLain and Mike Sellers with TwoBulls Productions rolled out lots of “red carpet” and gave all the Breeders more than their money’s worth and provided an experience that was positive from start to finish.  The event kicked off Friday evening with a welcome reception, steak dinner and Presentation of the Bulls hosted by the Duncan Golf & Country Club.  On Saturday at 10 am, the event started promptly and broke for a one-hour lunch after the first 75 bulls.  Everyone returned at 1:30 for the remaining 75 bulls and no one was disappointed.  TwoBulls Productions and United Bucking Bulls, Inc along with Omega Productions went the extra mile to provide the bull owners and fans video replay and real-time scoring.

The 2012 UBBI Gold Standard Futurity is just around the corner and breeders are hurrying to get their bulls ready for the big event!

“The Lifetime and Lottery positions put a unique and exciting spin on the event,” stated Randy Schmutz, the general manager of the UBBI.  “For those that don’t have a position in 2012, there’s still a chance that breeders can lease or purchase a spot for this year’s event from a position holder!”

Breeders that plan to lease or sell their positions this year are encouraged to contact the UBBI office.  “We’ve had several breeders express an interest in leasing spots to participate in the event this year,” explained Schmutz.  “Our office staff is willing to help those who have spots tot lease or have spots they want to lease, just give the UBBI office a call.”

Last year’s event paid out $150,000 and Indiana and Texas shared the win and split 1st and 2nd place and half of $65,000.  Mike Trimble and his daughter Amanda Deweese, with their bull #-9 Circle City split the win with J & J Supply/Gene Baker and bull #915 Houla Hoop.  Circle City is a Rooster Grandson and Houla Hoop is a son of the legendary Houdini.  Both bulls share White Sports Coat in their pedigrees and both bulls were marked 89 points for their extraordinary performances. Both breeders earned $37,500 each.
