The 2012 Greenville Chrysler Black Gold Challenge UBBI Derby presented by the TwoBulls Group will be held in Sulphur Springs, Texas on August 10th & 11th. Some of the best 3 year old bulls in the country will compete for their share of $100,000 in UBBI cash and the competition will be more than tough. Over 150 different breeders and partners from 14 different states will compete to try and win $25,000 for first place. Breeders from Washington State to South Carolina and Canada to Texas will participate this year.

In 2011, two-hundred four UBBI members applied for a “Lifetime Position” in the Black Gold UBBI Derby. A random drawing was held and the first 75 applicants drawn received a Lifetime position. A “Lifetime” position is defined as an entry position in the control of participant as long as he uses that position to enter a Derby bull each year. The owner of that position can use, sell, partner or lease the position, but the original owner of record is in control of that position until sold to another participant. The next 25 applicants drawn received a Lottery position for the event. A “Lottery” position is defined as a position that is obtained by random draw for participation one year. Almost 100 applicants have applied for a 2013 “Lottery” position for next year’s event and that drawing will take place on Thursday evening during the Welcome Reception and Dinner in Sulphur Springs.

One Hundred 3 year old bulls will be unloaded and tagged in on Thursday, August 9th at the Hopkins County Expo and that evening, the TwoBulls Group will once again roll out the red carpet. The 2012 Greenville Chrysler Black Gold Challenge UBBI Derby participants will be treated to a complimentary dinner to start the night’s activities. The Lottery drawing for twenty-five 2013 positions will held, followed by the Presentation of the Bulls. On Friday evening the first 50 bulls will perform followed by the remaining 50 bulls on Saturday night.

Other activities at the event will include Manager’s Reception hosted by the Hampton Inn on Wednesday, August 8th @ 6pm; Black Gold Derby Breeder Meeting on Thursday (Hopkins County Expo) @ 4:30pm; Breeder Welcome Reception, Dinner, Lottery Drawing & Presentation of the Bulls (Hopkins County Expo Main Hall) Thursday @ 7:00pm
